Spain, the country of the exploring conquistadors; and a country where the West meets Near East with a diverse historical European & Moorish cross-culture resulting in a wonderful mix of distinct architecture and delicious food. We did a multi-mode cycling stint along its Adalusian south and flew over to exciting Barcelona for more cycling adventures.

Cycling Europe 2019: Cycling In Portugal, Spain & France

A multi-mode adventure of the Iberian Peninsular and part of Southern France, starting from the Atlantic coast of Portugal and working our way south and inland to the old cities of Spain and ending at the Meditranean coast at Barcelona.

Cycling Europe 2019 Days 10 & 11 : Lisbon To Faro To Seville - Tchau Portugal, Hola Espanha!

From Lisbon it's by train to Faro and the following day it's by bus crossing into Spain to Seville. Oh yah, we visited a chapel made from bones too!

Cycling Europe 2019 Day 12: Discovering Seville & The Flamenco

A short riverside cycling stint in the morning followed by a walking tour to get to know Seville better coupled with a couple of exciting Flamenco dance performance.

Cycling Europe 2019 Day 13: Seville To Córdoba - Of Roman Temples & Bridges

A beautiful morning ride in Seville to the Plaza de España followed by a train ride to Cordoba and ending with a short ride there to visit a Mosque-Cathedral, and Roman temples & bridges.

Cycling Europe 2019 Day 14: Córdoba To Zuheros - The World's Most Beautiful Village

A morning ride to visit some of Cordoba attractions followed by a bus trip up to Zuheros, reputed to be the most beautiful village in the world!

Cycling Europe 2019 Day 15: Zuheros To Alcala La Real - Cold In The Highlands

A cold but beautiful ride along the Vias Verde in Zuheros before we proceeded to Alcala la Real, an even colder place... Brrrr!

Cycling Europe 2019 Day 16: Alcala La Real To Granada - the UNESCO Heritage City

It's onwards by bus to Granada and then cycling around to discover the charms of this UNESCO Cultural Heritage City.

Cycling Europe 2019 Day 17: Granada - Memories of Alhambra

A non-cycling day and we went to visit the Alhambra, the jewel of Granada.

Cycling Europe 2019 Days 18-19: Always Barthelona!

Our first two days in Barcelona included a visit to the renown Basílica de la Sagrada Família, having good pinchos followed by a Guru Walking tour of the city the next day.

Cycling Europe 2019 Day 20: Brompton Barcelona!

A great day of cycling with local Brompton friends who took us on a eye-opening tour of their city.

Cycling Europe 2019 Day 21: Park Güell & Barcelona Flea Markets

A non-cycling day with visits to Park Güell and a couple of flea markets.

Cycling Europe 2019 Day 22-25: South France

Off on a solo bus trip to Toulouse & Monclar-de-Quercy followed by road trips to Lourdes & Bordeaux. Non-cycling days except for a short stint at rustic Monclar-de-Quercy.

Cycling Europe 2019 Day 26: Of Barcelona Markets & Theatres

It's a short half-day ride around Barcelona to see more of the city before flying back home.
