This is a lean month with fewer eats.
Memorable eats for this month included: Very good tomyamn, oyster omelet & Thai sashimi at Laos Thai 5 to 9 (Segambut); Japanese at Shin Zushi SS2; a sumptuous Chinese Dinner at Chef J, Kepong; and several nice dishes by the DIL, ie Salmon-pomelo Salad & Beef bacon wrap.

Dry-aged fried chicken by Chef Neeks

Cooling off month. After last month's wonderful trip to Laos (Vientiane, Vang Vieng & Luang Prabang), and onwards to South-western China (Xishuangbana, Jingmai Mountains, Pu'er & Kunming), this first month of the new year was a slower eats month.

Still, we had some memorable eats such as: A Michelin Guide clamps noodles, good dry-aged fried chicken & Iberico ribs by Chef Neeks, good take-away Siamese Laksa, traditional style Soong Yee fish, and close the month with a superb Chinese fine-dining at Elite Youmiqi. We also tried the new Ramen David and give thumbs up!

After passing the three-month post-knee TKR (Total Kneecap Replacement) surgery diet and avoiding "itchy" food, my diet is returning to normal. And a holiday trip to Dubai and Morocco enriched this month's foodie adventure with good Arabian fare, Moroccan food, and interesting Mediterranean and French fare. Moroccan food wasn't as great as it was touted to be (perhaps our wide range of Malaysian food has spoilt my palate), but we did have several good meals, including one at the renowned Rick's Café in Casablanca.
