Chee Cheong Fun with Whole Crab at The 80s Home Cook Cuisine, Kuchai Lama, KL

After last month's adventure to Central Asia, we would have thought that this would be a tame foodie month. BUT NO! A short holiday to Bali did jazz things up!
Memorable eats for this month included: Chinese Fine Dining at The 80's Home Cook Cuisine, nice Ibu Oka Babi Guling in Ubud, authentic Indonesian Cuisine at Sun Sun Warung, Nasi Padang with curry beef knuckle tendon(gulai kikil) at Sarimande Nusantara, Beef Rendang at Waroeng Bernadette, and Dadar Gulung from various places.

We kicked off the month with a journey north for good eats in George Town, Penang and Hat Yai, Thailand.

Some of the memorable eats include: up in Penang, a champion's Char Koay Teow, and Michelin bib tomyum noodles, and apom. Over in Hat Yai were good Teow Chew dumplings, and a seafood fest. And not to forget very yummy Thai-Hainanese chicken rice and seafood dishes from Lao-Thai Restaurant, which ironically is in KL. Stay tuned at AhPek Biker's FB posts for daily updates!

This one from Indian style, son take away from hawker at Batu Lancang Food Court in Penang. It's a good throwback to school days when we eat this (with pickled onions) at the stadium while watching sports events.

These were brought from a stall during the Theravada Bikkhuni Charity Event at Menara Ken, TTDI. The filling was tasty but overly soft. The crust was crispy but too thin without enough layering

Had these during lunch at Lao Mao in Megah Rise, Taman Megah. Overall, not bad bit the crust could be thicker.

These ones are from Vanakam Kitchen, an Indian restaurant in Kelana Square, PJ The top pleating is beautifully done, but the crust is a bit thin and not adequately layered. The filling is good, though, cooked with cloves to give it an interesting flavour

These ones are from the old lady vendor selling near the Chagee, Damansara Utama. Not too bad, but the crust is a bit sweet.

This big one from the pastry stall of Yong Len Kopitiam, TTDI, is value for money. Although the top pleating looks awkward, the crust is crispy, and the filling is not too bad.
