Selangor: Sekinchan Merdeka Ride 2020
Sekinchan to Sungai Besar & Tanjung Karang: Saturday to Monday, 29th-31st August 2020
This is a three day cycling group event covering Sekinchan, Sungai Besar & Tanjung Karang in Selangor, Malaysia.
I like Sekinchan and have cycled there several times since 2013, back then the place was rather quiet, with not that many visitors. Pantai Redang Sekinchan had just one tree house and hardly no hawkers around, there was no wishing tree and no one flying kites there (we brought our own kites to fly there). Each time I go back, the place grew and changed; more restaurants opened, more niche places can be found. Then, there were few blogs about the place, and now blogs are aplenty. But despite it's growth and the much increase in visitors, the place still holds it's charm - AND I will go back again and again!
Below are the short summaries of the three days we spent there during this August of Malaysia;s Merdeka weekend..

What was supposed to be a half-day 24km. loop turned out to be a 50km one as we went a bit further to Tanjung Karang fishing piers at Bagan Pasir. We tried to locate a previous route that went along the boardwalks through the houses of the fishing village to get to Restoran Makanan Laut Sahabat (友谊海鲜饭店) but couldn't locate it. But we did get to the Kang Hoe Fishery on the other side of the bay. The Tanjung Karang town signboard, and a Chinese Temple did brighten our ride. After finishing our ride we drove out for a seafood lunch at Xiang Cun Seafood Restaurant (乡村海鲜饭店) a seafood lunch, and after that to get seafood/prawn crackers form PTP Sekinchan Seafood (适耕庄食品) & Yong Tau Foo at Dong Xin Trading.
